Overview

Our Bachelor of Islamic Studies, validated by the IIHSR University, is full-time higher education programme that combines an in-depth study of traditional Islamic disciplines with a study of relevant fields of contemporary knowledge that inform the discourse on faith in the modern context. It offers a comprehensive understanding of Islam’s relevance in modern society, combining traditional learning with current scholarship. This programme is the first of its kind in the UK and fills a crucial gap in Islamic education, aiming to guide students’ intellectual growth and spiritual development.

PROGRAMME OUTCOMES

The objectives of the programme are to:

Build a balanced understanding of different schools of thought and core disciplines in the Islamic tradition, the contexts in which they have developed, and the ways in which they deal with contemporary issues and challenges;
Provide the student with the opportunity to acquire deep and critical mastery of key foundational theories, principles and texts within the Islamic tradition;
Present a broad understanding of key aspects of the natural sciences, the humanities, and the social and political sciences which intersect with the study of religion and its application to contemporary society;
Equip students with intellectual and practical skills embedded in the Islamic tradition that will aid in the articulation and proper application of the Islamic tradition to contemporary issues and challenges;
Develop independence of judgement, critical thinking and the ability to communicate effectively in ways that are relevant to the field of scholarship and the wider professional world;
Prepare students for further study at higher levels and/or the pursuit of relevant professional pathways;
Create a learning and research environment which provides both equal opportunity and tolerance of diversity.

ASSESSMENT

Students are assessed using different methods aligned with module objectives. These include essays, oral presentations, group projects and written examinations.

Experience Excellence at IIHSR University

A Bachelor's Degree online via distance learning is the equivalent of a three years college degree.
The Bachelor's Degree provide students with comprehensive knowledge in specific fields of study. Students acquire a full understanding of all subjects related to the major.

The course curricula of the Bachelor's Degree online via distance learning is entirely based on published textbook material (pdf) and is adjusted to the student's personal goals. The final exam consists of writing several 20 to 35 pages reports based on each of the assigned textbooks.

A Bachelor's Degree at IIHSR University requires 130 academic credits, around 2000 hours of study according to the European semester credit system, which are equivalent to three years of study at the traditional university. Credits from previous education may be transferred to reduce the academic requirements and the duration of this distance learning degree.

Admission requirements

There are many ways you can gain entry into a degree through IIHSR European University Online. We accept any one of the following, provided you meet the minimum requirements relating to that criteria:

Certification course in any field
Completion or partial completion of tertiary study
Work experience, in any industry (assessed on a case by case basis)
Completion of Year 12 HS (or equivalent), with a minimum required

The Business School now offers the BBM Business Management degree at our campus in UK/SWISS. Our leading academic staff teach to the same standards as our UK/SWISS based programmes and you will graduate with the campus BBM degree from the IIHSR University ; a qualification that is internationally respected and recognised. Candidates may study the Analytics and Informatics major at the UK/Swiss campus (on campus or online) under Rule (a). Study at IIHSR Swiss/UK Campus is only available for full-time on campus international students admitted under rule (e), completing the Accounting, Analytics and Informatics, or Finance majors.

Registration

Only students whose application for admission was approved and re-registering students (who made sufficient progress during the current academic year) will be allowed to register online within the approved registration period for the 2023 academic year. Students with outstanding fees or a Library block on their accounts, will not be able to register online until these issues have been resolved.
