The Educational Process

The program combines both theoretical and practical methods of studying medicine useful for remembering new information and consolidating students’ skills. Students use modern information resources and have access to a digital library, electronic sources, and all necessary multimedia. Our students use one of the most modern Simulation Centers in Poland, for their practical classes. It helps them in developing their professional competencies and skills. Our lecturers have extensive professional experience in training new specialists and use modern methods of teaching to give our students the opportunity to become professionals in their field of science. We collaborate with famous medical institutions in Poland and abroad to gain new knowledge and experience.

After graduating students are able:

To determine the leading clinical symptoms and syndromes, using preliminary data of the patient’s anamnesis, data of the patient’s examination, knowledge about the person, his/her organs, and systems, to establish a probable nosological or syndromic preliminary clinical diagnosis of dental disease;
To collect information about the general condition of the patient, assess the psychomotor and physical development of the patient, assess the state of the organs of the jaw-facial area, based on the results of laboratory and instrumental studies to assess information regarding the diagnosis;
To assign and analyze additional (mandatory and optional) examination methods (laboratory, radiological, functional, and/or instrumental), for patients with diseases of organs and tissues of the oral cavity and the jaw-facial area for differential diagnosis of diseases;
To determine the final clinical diagnosis in accordance with the relevant ethical and legal norms, by making an informed decision and logical analysis of the obtained subjective and objective data of the clinical, additional examination, providing differential diagnosis under the supervision of a physician-manager in a medical institution;
To diagnose urgent conditions in all circumstances (at home, on the street, in a medical institution), in an emergency, under martial law, with a lack of information, and with limited time;
To plan and implement measures to prevent dental diseases among the population and prevent the spread of dental diseases;

Medical Psychology

Medical Psychology is a sub-discipline that applies psychological principles to the field of medicine. The Bachelor or Master of Science in Medical Psychology at the International European University in Poland will provide specialized training for persons interested in becoming professional Medical Psychologists with a sound medical psychology basis capable of carrying out many facets of psychology work, such as psychological assessments, advanced psychological diagnosis, treatment, research, and consultations about the use of any psychotropic medication. The field is concerned with developing and integrating psychosocial, behavioral, and biomedical knowledge relevant to health and illness, and applying this knowledge to the prevention, etiology, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of patients and clients within a lifespan perspective.

The International European University graduates will deal with patients and clients with diverse health-related needs and generally contribute towards humanity’s well-being. It will pursue this through innovative medical education. This includes, among others, the use of a competency-based, integrated, community-oriented, student-centered, problem-based learning curriculum and instructional strategies that promote the development of all needed professional competencies. This unique program arose from a perceived need for skilled mental health professionals in Poland. The Programme offered at the International European University focuses on medical psychology, which is based on the biopsychosocial model that draws upon knowledge from health psychology, clinical psychology, and neuropsychology. However, despite its misleading title, a Medical Psychologist does not automatically have the authority to prescribe medication. Any psychologist who desires to prescribe medication must first meet specific qualifications in psychopharmacology.

There are many things psychologists can do in such a specialty. After obtaining a Medical Psychology Degree at the International European University you can be a:
Rehabilitation Specialist. A rehabilitation specialist helps someone who has experienced a traumatic life event. If you work as a rehab specialist, you might help someone manage the mental and emotional process of learning to walk or speak again or even dealing with the loss of a limb.

Psychiatric Technician. Psychiatric technicians are entry-level mental health workers. They are often employed in residential treatment centers, nursing homes, psychiatric hospitals, or other facilities where there are developmentally disabled or mentally ill patients.
Case Manager. A case manager oversees a patient’s care. It is their job to make sure the patient has an effective treatment plan that covers all aspects of that patient’s care, including mental and emotional health. They also advocate for their patients, ensuring they receive all the necessary services. Generally, a bachelor’s degree is needed to be a case manager.

About the Medical Biotechnology

European School of Medical Biotechnologies is dedicated to providing the highest quality education in basic medical sciences by offering a dynamic study environment with well-equipped labs. Biotechnology means genetically modified organisms, alien species, toxic weapons, or hormone-treated beef. It is also a tool to control plant and animal pests, preserve species, utilize genetic resources for health and nutrition, and protect the environment. This program is designed to train students to deal in technological applications involving biological application systems, living organisms, or derivatives thereof, to make or modify products to processes for specific use to bridge the gap between industry requirements and the growing demand for skilled manpower in the Medical Biotechnology sector.

Medical Biotechnology students at the IEU will learn how to contribute towards developing beneficial products to prevent and treat human diseases, learn how to communicate their findings to the general public, and eventually market their own biotechnology products and set up their own companies. The Educational Process

Medical Biotechnology students at the International European University develop the skills to coordinate research projects in the fields of biotechnology and molecular medicine. The program provides a thorough preparation in molecular technology for the biotechnological use of prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells. Students have the ability to learn how to design and develop research strategies aimed at applying emerging technology to the medical field. The International European University`s research laboratories provide advanced training opportunities with state-of-the-art scientific equipment. The objective of the course is to make students learn about the legal, safety, and public policy issues raised due to the rapid progress in Medical Biotechnology and the development of new products. The biotechnology students are supposed to understand and follow the regulatory framework important for product safety and benefit society. The students are given case histories to discuss and express their views.
The teaching methodologies conducted in the studying program include face-to-face lectures, laboratory practicals, small group teaching (problem-based learning and tutorials), workshops, computer-aided learning (CAL), seminars, presentations, industrial visits, video reviews, internships, guided reading and portfolio as well as original and independent research work. During your classes, you will gain an understanding of the state of the art in biomedical research areas, including drug and target discovery, vaccine development, biopharmaceuticals, transgenesis, gene therapy, stem cell research, and tissue engineering. The most prominent Polish doctors will give you an insight into current limitations and future prospects of biotechnological applications in medicine and the ability to apply the knowledge gained from the course lectures in short literature research and PowerPoint presentation about a relevant topic of choice.
The IEU Medical Biotechnology Course will present some of the most common issues encountered in biomedical research and biotechnology. The objective of this course is to raise awareness of the issues surrounding biotechnology and encourage critical and responsible consideration of research conduct. Topics covered will fall into three categories:
research integrity;
applied medical technologies and theoretical aspects of medicine into biological research;
contemporary issues arising from medical biotechnologies achievements, based on new scientific discoveries.Each class will consist of lectures discussing and demonstrating how an integrated and multidisciplinary approach can yield critical new leads to our understanding of disease generation. By stimulating lectures from key players in the research field students will become familiar with the techniques, approaches, and inventions leading to future generations of pharmaceuticals. A unique aspect of our program is the focus on biotechnology in medicine. Students are trained in the sciences and business practices important to biotechnology using medical applications. Scientists with industrial biotechnology experience, legal and regulatory professionals that serve the industry, and practicing physicians will participate as instructors in the experience-directed coursework and research activities.
Knowledge of this subject will form a profound base for the instrumentation used in various advanced courses in Biotechnology and Bioinformatics. Upon completion of this course students will be able to:
